Natron is almost ready for translation, but the few steps remaining are:
- a developper has to properly enable foreign languages in the code, add the language selection in the preferences, etc. It's a 2-day job, but we do not have time for this right now. Since Natron uses Qt, we used the Qt way for internationalization, called Qt Linguist. This may not be the best choice, and this may still be changed (in favor of gettext for example). Once translations have started, it is more difficult to change the I18N (internationalization) system.
- all the English translatable words and sentences have to be proofread and spell-checked by a native English speaker, because these are the basis for every translation
